The motor-mouthed one has been in the country recently talking up his latest pastiche “Death Proof” (the first film in Hollywood history to star a stuntwoman from my hometown of Waiheke Island), as well as catching up with old pals including “The Taste of Tea” director Ishii Katsuhito. Ishii is a big fan of Tarantino’s work and his influence is written all over his feature debut, “Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl”. He later repaid that debt somewhat by helping coordinate the animation sequence in “Kill Bill Vol. 1″, as well as providing the concept for Lucy Liu’s character O-Ren Ishii. Now, at last, the master and his disciple have again joined forces to bring you this shochu-fueled piece of cinema verite, courtesy of the Nice Rainbow blog.
